		Shelia Thomas serves as Financial Aid Director at East Central Tech, providing management and oversight of federal, state, and local grant/scholarship programs of over $3 million dollars. She directly supervises two Financial Aid Technicians. Additionally, she works closely with four Career Planners in the Admissions Office, providing guidance in the completion of student financial aid applications for new students, as well as, assisting in admissions interviews as needed. Prior to joining the staff of East Central Tech, Ms. Thomas worked two years as an administrative assistant with the Office of Minority Affairs at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. She also served in the United States Air Force from 1985 until 1992, achieving the rank of Captain. Shelia is a member of the Georgia Association of Financial Aid Advisors and the Georgia Association of Technical Financial Aid Advisors. She serves in her local church as assistant administrator, praise and worship team member, Sunday School teacher, and minister. Ms. Thomas holds a Master of Education degree in Adult and Vocational Education and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Valdosta State University.
