Broadband Installation Specialist

Program Description

The purpose of the Broadband Installation Specialist technical certificate is to provide training opportunities for persons to gain entry-level employment in the field of broadband telecommunications. Courses in the technical certificate provide both classroom and hands-on learning in the areas of safety, cable installation, grounding and bonding, standards and codes, terminations and testing, and CATV installations and troubleshooting.

Length of Program A total of 18 credit hours is required for completion.  A part-time student enrolled two nights a week could complete this program in three quarters. Campus Location The Broadband Installation Specialist  Certificate is offered on the Ben Hill-Irwin campus. Employment Opportunities Graduates are able to seek full-time employment with broadband service providers.   Entrance Requirements Required Age: 16 years of age or older Placement exam required.
