Program Description

The Direct Support Professional certificate prepares students to become certified Direct Support Professionals who provide direct support for persons with developmental disabilities and other disabilities including older adults and to provide skills for job enhancement for those already employed in the field of support services.

Length of Program

A minimum of 15 credit hours is required for completion. This certificate can be completed in two quarters.

Campus Location

 The Direct Support Professional is offered on the Ben Hill-Irwin and Coffee campuses.

 Employment Opportunities

 Graduates of this program will be able to work in a direct support workforce for people such as individuals with developmental disabilities and the aging population.
Entrance Requirements*
Required Age: 18 or older
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Placement exam required.
