Program Description
The Gas Tungsten Arc Welder (GTAW or TIG) certificate program
provides advanced knowledge of theory, safety practices,
blueprint reading, inert gas, equipment, and techniques required
for successful gas tungsten arc welding. Program completers will
receive a Gas Tungsten Arc Welder technical certificate.

Length of Program
A total of 17 credit hours is required for program
completion. A part-time student enrolled two nights a week
could expect to complete the program in four quarters; a day
student, in two quarters.
Campus Location
The Gas Tungsten Arc Welder
certificate is offered quarterly on the Ben Hill-Irwin campus.
Employment Opportunities
Completers may find employment opportunities as gas
metal arc welders or in one of several related areas.
