Program Description

The purpose of the Customer Service -Help Desk Support Specialist technical certificate is to provide training opportunities for persons to gain employment in a customer service/ help desk environment. Courses in the technical certificate provide both classroom and hands-on learning in the areas of computer concepts, external and internal customer relations, data entry, office applications and basic technical concepts applied in various fields.
 

Length of Program

A total of 20 credit hours is required for completion.  A part-time student can complete this program in three quarters by attending classes two nights a week.

Campus Location

The Customer Service - Help Desk Support Specialist Certificate is offered on the Ben Hill-Irwin, Coffee, Wilcox, and Pearson campuses.

Employment Opportunities

The customer service or help desk specialist is now the first stop for customers seeking resolution of computer problems. It is critical that these individuals are trained not only in the necessary interpersonal skills, but also in the software applications and basic technical skills desired by industry.

Entrance Requirements

Placement exam required.
