Length of Program
A total of 31 credit hours is required for program
completion. A full-time student can
complete the program in three quarters.
Campus Location
The Homeland Security Specialist certificate program
is offered on the Ben Hill-Irwin, Coffee, Wilcox, and
Pearson campuses.

Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the program will be
prepared for employment in various careers in the area of
local responders including the police departments, Sheriffs
Departments, fire departments, and even the healthcare
industry.
Entrance Requirements*
Minimum Age: 18
High School Diploma or GED
Placement exam required.
*All applicants will be required to have a
criminal background check. A failure to submit to a check or
failing the background check will exclude the student from
participating in internships and may prevent the student
from gaining employment in this field.
