Length of Program
A total of 83 hours is required for graduation. A full-time
student could expect to complete the program in five
quarters. Completion time for part-time students will depend
upon course load taken.
Campus Location
The Medical Assisting
diploma program is offered on the Coffee Campus and new
students are accepted each fall quarter.
Employment
Opportunities
Graduates may choose to
find employment as a medical assistant in a clinic,
hospital, or physician’s office. Because of the varied
training, other job opportunities in office support
positions could be available.
Salary Range
The average annual salary
range for Medical Assisting graduates is $14,560 to $33,280.
Personal Characteristics
To succeed as a medical
assistant, individuals should demonstrate good interpersonal
skills, enjoy assisting patients and physicians, follow
medical instructions carefully, be able to work with
individuals from various cultures, and be able to
multi-task. They should possess good work ethics, customer
service skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
regarding the medical site, patients, etc. |
