Workforce Investment Act (WIA)-The purpose of this act
is to provide economically disadvantaged youth and unskilled adults, or
persons facing serious barriers to employment, with the training necessary
for entry into the labor force. For those who qualify and are selected,
WIA can pay the cost of tuition, fees, books, and uniforms where
required.

managers for WIA at ECTC or from the Georgia Department of Labor.
Foundation - The East Central Tech Foundation
grants various
scholarships during each year. Contact your high school
counselor for more information on these scholarships.
The East Central Tech Financial Aid Committee awards other scholarships as
they become available. The committee responds to requests for short-term
emergency loans.
Students seeking aid from the Financial Aid Committee should talk with
their instructor, who will refer them to the Financial Aid Director for
other information and/or request forms as needed.
Vocational Rehabilitation - Assistance is available for
qualifying physically handicapped students. Contact the local vocational
rehabilitation counselor for complete information.
Veterans - All programs at ECTC are approved
for veteran's training. Persons eligible for veteran's training should make
application through the ECTC registrar or their local Veterans Administration Office,
or visit the VA/GI Bill Website at
www.gibill.va.gov.

Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Grant
-
Pell eligible students who have a child receiving child care services at the
East Central Tech Child Development Center may apply for financial
assistance through the CCAMPIS Grant. The purpose of this grant is to
support the participation of low-income parents in postsecondary education
through the provision of campus-based child-care services. Grants are
awarded quarterly based on the students demonstrating the greatest financial
need.
Student Government Child Care Supplemental Grant
- Limited financial assistance is available to help non-Pell
eligible students with cost of child care expenses at the Child Development
Center. Applicants will submit a request for Child Care Assistance
Application to the Financial Aid Office. Grant recipients are selected
by the Financial Aid Committee.
Georgia First Loans-
Low-interest loans are available from the
Georgia Student Finance Commission.
