The Financial
Aid Office is located in the Student Services Area of Building
600 on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus. Please contact the admissions
office at (229) 468-2040 to speak with a financial aid
technician.
Financial Assistance
East Central Technical College has several types of financial assistance
available to help qualified applicants pay for their education. Sufficient
assistance is available so that no eligible student should be denied the
opportunity to enroll because of costs.
Due to
the processing time for financial aid, applicants should apply four (4) to
six (6) weeks before the anticipated date for starting school. Grant
programs operate on an award year basis beginning July 1 and ending June
30. You must apply or reapply each year in order to receive or continue
receiving financial aid.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for most types of financial aid, the student must:
- Have completed or left high school
- Be at least sixteen (16) years of age
- Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent, or demonstrated the
ability to benefit from the course of study
- Pursue a diploma in an eligible course of study
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
- Demonstrate financial need
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Register with Selective Service if required (REGISTER
ONLINE NOW)
- Not be in default of a student loan or owe a refund on previously
received grant
- Agree to use any funds received for educationally related purposes
only
- Certify that they will not engage in the unlawful manufacture,
distribution, possession, or use of controlled substances
