Sending an Attachment
Use the following steps in sending an attachment for an
assignment in this course:
1. Save your work to your floppy disk or your hard drive
2. Go into your course in Blackboard
3. Click on the Communications button
4. Click Send Email
5. Click All Instructors
6. Type a message and a subject line (be sure to include your name, class, and
assignment number in your subject line)
7. Scroll down until you see Attachment and click Add
8. Click Browse
9. Find your file (use the Look in drop box)
10. Click Open
11. Click Submit
12. Click Submit again
I know that these is a longer process. However, when you send an attachment
straight from a software program, problems can occur.
Discussion Board
There will be several discussion boards in your course.
Discussion boards allow you to read other student responses, post your own
response (Start New Thread), or reply to other student responses (REPLY).
Remember, if you are assigned to respond/post to the discussion board, DO NOT
EMAIL THE RESPONSE/POST TO THE INSTRUCTOR.
Hopefully, the discussion board will enable you to interact with other online
students and provide more communication with the instructor. Think of it like a
discussion in the classroom.
Work Ethics
Work ethics is an integral part of our curriculum at East
Central Tech. You will be given a work ethics assignment each week. Carefully
read your Announcements to see what the work ethics activity is each week.
You will receive a work ethics grade. Your grade report will have an academic
grade and a work ethics grade. Your work ethics grade will be one of the
following:
3--Exceeds expectations
2--Meets expectations
1--Needs improvements
0--Unacceptable
Student Email Privacy
East Central Technical College tries to ensure student privacy as
much as possible. You will notice that all of your online instructors will blind
copy students on an email if the email is sent to more than one student.
However, in Blackboard, your email address is present in various areas. Your
instructors cannot prohibit your email address from being accessed. If you would
like to remove your email address so that other students do not have access to
it, you need to complete the following steps:
Login to Blackboard and your class
Click “Tools”
Click “Personal Information”
Click “Set Privacy Options”
Choose information that you do want available for other students’ viewing
Click “Submit”
Click “OK”
