Career DirectionHave you explored your strengths and personal attributes? Do you know your
unique talents and abilities? Do you know what occupations are out there? Do
you know your true interests-- not what your family, friends, or the media
tells you to be interested in?
Have you chosen the career that is right for you? Choosing means making a
decision. Have you made an informed decision? Or have you made a decision
based on chance or fate?
Have you made a plan? Have you really thought about it? In order to get
where you want to go, you must set goals and have a plan. Do you have a
clear plan, or are you wandering aimlessly?
We can help you explore, choose, and plan your career. Registering with the
Career Center will give you access to:
a variety of computerized interest inventories;
the Internet and a guided search of career information;
Georgia Career Information System, with the Micro-SKILLS to allow you to
identify occupations based on your current skills;
magazines, references, books, directories, and video tapes on careers; and
catalogs from the colleges and technical schools in Georgia.
The Career Center also offers:
literacy testing with TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education);
complete workshops available in career awareness and planning;
employment testing to help employers put the right person in the right job. |
